Desert Planters' Objectives
The objectives of Desert Planters of Ridgecrest are:
- To teach others how to garden in this challenging climate, to learn from each other what has been successful in our gardens.
- To learn to use our precious water wisely, to have fun and enjoy gardening.
- To provide trees and other plants to beautify our City and the Indian Wells Valley while honoring our Veterans and First Responders.
The weekly Farmer’s Market in Ridgecrest is our effort to teach and learn gardening here as well as at our spring and fall Plant Sales and monthly General meetings.
Ridgecrest Farmer's Market Booth
Weekly booth features locally acclimated plants potted by members, gardening advice and questions answered by Master Gardener trained and long-time High Desert gardener, Marianne Kistler.
Also sell gardening accessories: wide brim hats, neck coolers, bulbs in season.
Fridays rain or shine, wind or calm, at the Triangle Drive cinema parking lot.
